FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

EVER BEEN CONFUSED ABOUT EVERY "HAIR TERM", WE'VE GOT YOU COVERED BELOW!

1. WHAT DOES 'RAW' INDIAN HAIR MEAN?

Raw hair means that each bundle purely comes from one specific donor with cuticle aligned hair. Shikorina only uses raw hair as it is 100% authentic and the most luxurious, top of the line hair available on the market today. With no hair additives or blended lengths, this type of hair organically has fuller bundles, higher quality, easily blends with all hair types, is natural looking and overall longer lasting hair.

2. WHAT IS CUTICLE ALIGNED HAIR?

Cuticle aligned hair means that the hair is carefully to make sure all the cuticles flow in the same direction from root to the tip from one single donor. Shikorina proudly sources cuticle aligned hair to ensure the cuticles are healthy and intact which prevents matting and crazy tangling.

3. WHAT IS A HAIR EXTENSION WEFT?

The hair weft is the part of your hair extension that binds the hair together. It resembles a curtain-like shape. Shikorina uses the highest quality wefts and the best glue available to seal the wefts which reduces the shedding to its minimum, and produces the most natural look possible. It can be used with methods such as weaving, micro-rings, glue or clips, according to your wishes.

4. WHAT COLOR DOES RAW INDIAN HAIR COME IN?

Raw hair is never colored and should always be sold in its natural state in order for the customer to experience the hairs fullest potential. This unique type of hair comes in natural shades of black, dark brown and everything in between. Shikorina proudly stays true to our commitment to provide our customers with true authentic raw hair, so there may be slight variation in color between bundles. This is actually perfect for you because with an experienced hair stylist, when it is blended properly, this will give your hair a more natural look and better depth of color as our natural hair has multiple shades of color and is never one flat color.

5. HOW MANY BUNDLES SHOULD I BUY?

There are a few different things to consider when deciding how many bundles to buy. This includes YOUR desired look and the overall shape of your head. Keep in mind the longer the length of your bundles, the more hair you're generally going to need. A general hair industry rule of thumb however is: 12 inches= 2 bundles; 14-22 inches= 3 bundles; 24-28 inches= 4 bundles.

6. CAN RAW INDIAN HAIR BE REUSED?

Yes, it can definitely be reused and can last for a very long timeWhile synthetic and pre-processed hair do not respond well to reuse, Shikorina's virgin raw Indian hair will stay healthy with a natural appearance for several uses depending on how you maintain it.

7. HOW DO I CARE FOR MY RAW INDIAN HAIR?

You have to care for your extensions just like you would with your own natural hair. This includes brushing the hair both morning and night making sure to do so gently and avoiding brushing very wet hair as this can cause more breakage. Deep conditioning, letting the hair fully dry to the roots, and using a good quality shampoo and conditioner without sulfate and harsh chemicals are all a plus, especially if you use a lot of hair products. Keep in mind hair products, if not washed off on a regular basis, can start messing with the quality of the hair just as it would your own hair. Caring for your Shikorina raw Indian hair extensions is a major plus to you because you will be able to reuse the hair many times all while keeping the hair looking shiny, smooth, and tangle free.

8. CAN RAW INDIAN HAIR BE COLORED OR HIGHLIGHTED?

YES, absolutely. The hair is yours to style, highlight and color to your most desired and blended look. Shikorina's premium quality raw hair has never been chemically treated and it can therefore handle the coloring process very well. Please remember to continue caring for the hair after coloring your new hair just as you would your own.

9. CAN I SWIM WITH MY RAW INDIAN HAIR EXTENSIONS?

It is OK to swim with your hair extensions and does not have to be avoided. However, it is always a good idea to take extra precautions to prevent damage. Braiding your hair before swimming or wearing a swimmers cap are great ways to protect the hair. Excessive chlorine or salt can eventually take a toll on any hair so make sure to always rinse the hair immediately after getting out and completely dry the base of the head.

10. WHY IS RAW INDIAN HAIR EXPENSIVE?

There are two main types of hair extensions – the synthetic and the human hair. Synthetic hair extensions tend to be less expensive, poorer quality and does not last long or resemble real human hair giving it an unnatural look.

On the other hand, human hair extensions are more expensive but of greater quality, often preferred over synthetic hair, easier to style, maintain, last's longer and are a better investment for customers overall. Raw Indian hair is the most authentic and highest quality human hair available in the world today with its quality being unmatched time and time again. Shikorina prides itself on being able to honestly give customers the most luxurious, top of the line hair available on the market today. Our hair is brought from Indian temples and carefully cleaned, sorted and wefted sticking to our high quality standards. For that very reason, we are able to deliver the consistency in the quality of hair which is hard to find in this industry.
